Design a Roxy Bikini Contest Winner!
August 13, 2003
Press release

Nikki's mom, Nikki, and Leslie Tobia

The results are in: Nicole Paul, age 14, from Palm Bay, Florida, has won the Design a Roxy Bikini Contest. Her unique creation beat out 29,455 other entries and earned her trip for two to Miami, Florida, for the Miami Swim show (July 20-24), lunch with Roxy's head swimwear designer, Leslie Tobia, and a $1,000 Roxy wardrobe. Because Nikki is from Florida, she was given the choice of coming out to California to Quiksilver/Roxy's headquarters to have lunch with Leslie and the design team, get a tour of the building, shop for her $1,000 wardrobe in the warehouse, and go see the U.S. Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach. She chose this option and visited California July 27-29.

Hula dancers welcome Nikki and congratulate her on winning the contest.

The competition was tough. Each week, Leslie chose her favorite submitted print, and this print was posted on the web site. Eight prints made up the finalists for the grand prize. At the end of the two months, one grand-prize winner was selected by Leslie and one "people's choice" winner was selected through voting interaction. Nikiki's bikini print will be submitted into Roxy's Summer 2004 swimwear line named after her (i.e., "the Nikki suit"). The "people's choice" winner will also receive $1,000 worth of Roxy product.
